QUALITY ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER
Workplace: Stranraer
Key duties:
- Develop, implement and maintain a Quality Management System in support of HISL goals and ISO 9001 accreditation at Stranraer and Letchworth sites.
- Develop implement and maintain an Environmental System to support ISO 14001 accreditation
- Establish, track, and report Quality metrics to support site and Enterprise goals.
- Instigate and Implement continuous improvement processes across all areas:
- Develop or specify standards, methods and procedures to determine product quality acceptance.
- Develop and manage practices to ensure quality throughout all phases of production.
- Build and maintain effective relationships and communication with internal and external customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure customer expectations are met and report on results.
- Identify and instigate relevant quality-related training needs for team members
- Manage day to day operations, ensuring effective, efficient, and safe performance of the Quality Department.
- Responsible for evaluating employees performance and administer performance management actions as necessary.
Requirements:
- HND or equivalent in a electro/mechanical engineering Certified MCIQ professional preffered or working towards
- Minimum five years of previous experience in quality concepts, metrics and problem solving methodologies in an engineering manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with and Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Lead BSI auditor
- Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to promote cooperation between all functional groups within the organization.
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, including the ability to prepare and present reports to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards and other product related regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance disciplines including statistical principles,
- Strategic influencing skills including the ability to promote continuous improvements in QA processes at all levels and across all areas of the organization.
- Lean Six Sigma methodologies and other quality tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab or equivalent.
- Flexible and innovative approach to managing work of team and own working patterns.
- Ability to identify and develop staff with a view to succession.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
