Currently for our client, Helmet Integrated Ltd. from Letchworth we are looking for:

DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER ELECTRONICS

Workplace: Letchworth 

Key duties:

• Create new and improved electrical and electronic components and assemblies.


• Support appropriate engineering reviews and the engineering change process.


• Provide technical information and support for creation of drawings, bills of materials and related process and control documentation.


• Support the implementation of product testing and test procedures for both internal and external facilities during all phases of product life cycle.


• Liaise with customers, suppliers and corporate facilities - worldwide.


• Conduct feasiblity studies involving cost, manufacturability, performance and quality


• Support for product innovation, new design concepts, new processes and materials.


• Understands and can interpret product standards and specifications (both Industry
  standard, eg. MIL spec, ATEX, etc and customer written specs)

Requirements:

• Degree, HNC, HND, time served apprentiship in electronic engineering


• Fluent in English


• Working knowledge of Intrinsicaly Safe system design and regulations.


• Ability to integrate both Mechanical and Electrical assemblies at a systems level.


• Ability to Design of digital and analogue circuits.


• Ability to design for EMC/EMI compliance.


• Ability to communicate design concepts and engineering principles to individual team members and groups from different disciplines and areas of the business


• Ability to write and analyze reports and documentation


• Ability to analyze and interpret data, with recommendations


• Problem solving skills


• Understanding and use of Microsoft Office, including packages of Excel, Word, Outlook


• Use of Cadence OrCad or ECAD


• Knowledge of Programme in ´C´ - not essential


• Ability to communicate well and work as part of a team
  


• Flexibility and adaptability within a fast-paced product development environment


• Willingness to travel frequently
